Percy, a Plott Hound, is just under 40 pounds and 2-3 years old. He is very affectionate, great with kids, and loves to run and play so an active family and a fenced yard is a plus. He sleeps in a crate at night and is house trained, leash trained and is learning basic commands.  Percy is vaccination current and is neutered.

Chance is making great progress on being house trained! He sleeps in his own bed in the house at night but sometimes he will finagle his way into his foster’s bed – and is allowed to stay there. He really does not like being put in a crate but, when necessary, tolerates it if he is given something to chew on. He prefers having female dogs over male dogs for company. He likes to play fetch if you throw his toys and balls. Car rides are a favorite activity for Chance PROVIDED he has something comfy to lie on – maybe just a little bit spoiled? Chance is a goofy, sweet dog who likes to show his affection for you by cuddling, hugging and just being near you.

Vera is great with kids and people! Vera is an inside/outside dog. She comes into the house with her foster mom during the day but she sleeps outside in her kennel at night. Her favorite spot when she is inside during the day is lying on the couch next to her foster mom. She is very much a “lap dog”. She tends to be nervous around other dogs. She would do well as a family’s only dog!

Heidi is strong miniature Dachshund mix,  She is 5.5 months old and came into our pound with her brother, Buster.  Although they are bonded, they would do okay if adopted separately.

Heidi is very sweet. When she came, she had no training at all. Now she is pretty much potty trained. She is crate trained, she doesn’t like it but settles down pretty soon. She is learning sit and leash but is still a puppy with little focus. She loves to run and play with other dogs, and can get pretty tough. She loves to be loved on and curl up beside you while you watch tv. She’s about as big as she’s going to get.

Buster is strong miniature Dachshund mix,  He is 5.5 months old and came into our pound with his sister, Heidi.  Although they are bonded, they would do okay if adopted separately.

Buster is a little more timid than Heidi but he relaxes quickly when he knows you. He loves to run with other dogs that chase a ball. He doesn’t want the ball, just to run along. We are working on potty training, but he is a little slower to pick up than Heidi. He is crate trained, but would rather sleep with his person than be in a crate. He also likes to be loved on and lie beside you.

Betty, a 6-8 year old Lab mix weighing about 35 lbs, was found chained to a tree at the home of a deceased individual. ARF was called in to help. We took 6 large breed dogs, Betty included, into our system. Betty was severely injured as she had been attacked by a loose dog. Her head and neck were swollen twice normal size and she had several large gaping wounds. After 9 days at the veterinary hospital (bill of about $1000) and a month of treatment in her foster home her injuries have healed. She may always have a few tale-tale scars. When she was able to walk we discovered, through x-rays, she has degenerative joint disease. That said, she is a sweet, loving little girl! She does well with the other dogs in her foster home. She still enjoys toys, cuddles, and the company of other dogs who are not extremely active. We hope an individual who is looking for a great companion will offer Betty the perfect home to call her own during her sunset years! Betty is house trained, spayed, micro chipped and up to date on vaccinations. Her adoption fee may be negotiable to the right home

Hey! I am Doobie here! My foster says I am sweet as sugar and as energetic as ….well, you know! I just love to jump around and play! I think playing with kids is super fun! Actually, I like EVERYTHING. My foster has yet to find something I don’t like to do! I am crate trained but I really, really prefer sleeping in the bed with my foster. Oh, must not forget to tell you – I love car rides!!

Hi!  My name is Herbert, but I go by Herby for short. I’m a big ball of energy and love going for walks. My favorite treats are pepperonis and I get along great with kids and other dogs. I can sit and sometimes will stay depending on how excited I am. I’m house trained and love to cuddle.”

I am also crate trained and can stay in the house without going to the bathroom while my foster family is away. And just so you know, sometimes I sleep in my crate but I also get to sleep in the bed with my foster!

According to Haley's fosters she is probably the most loving, affectionate dog they have ever known!  They say she is a loving, energetic ball of energy and will be a great addition to an active family.  Even though her fosters are "retired age" and have no children or cats in their home they are confident she will do well with older children - probably smaller ones as well. She is house trained and has no separation anxiety issues.  Although she is comfortable in a crate she sleeps in the bed with them and their other dog at night.

Suede is a spayed female Pitbull approximately 8 months to a year old. She is petite but still growing at 44 pounds currently.Suede LOVES BELLY RUBS! When approached she will immediately roll over for rubs!

And she loves Kids! She has been around ages 1 and up but due to her energy level she would be best suited for older kids. Running is a favorite pastime -

alongside a bike or outside in a fenced yard!

TOYS! Just make sure they are durable because she is a super chewer!

CHEESE! The processed slices are her favorite treat and she will take all medications easily hidden in it

BEING ALONE. She has some degree And she lovesof separation anxiety. She does well with 2 benadryls to calm her down.

BATHS. But she will tolerate them well!

-Suede needs basic training. We have taught her to sit, and down but she is very much a puppy with the energy to match!

-She is crate trained, but not housetrained.

-She gets alone fine with other dogs, and is on the submissive side.

-She prefers the attention of people over playing with other dogs!

-She has been around cats, and has shown no aggression towards them.

**NOT compatible with livestock animals (goats, pigs, chickens etc.)**

Aidan is a bully breed mix who weighs in at 50 pounds.  His estimated age is about 9 months.  He is very energetic and loves to play with toys - typical for a pup his age! One of his favorite activities is "cuddling with humans". He does well with other dogs but is still learning how to give them space. He has been introduced to the foster family cat and seems to do fine with her.  Aidan has done well around children so long as they are aware that his tail wags a lot and can hurt! Aidan needs an active family with a fenced yard.

This good looking hunk is a 70 pound English Setter mix.  He is aged at about 3 years old. He know some commands - "sit", "stay" and "fetch".  Charlie is vaccination current, neutered and micro chipped.   He would be quite happy to be the only dog in a home that has a fenced yard for play time.  He is vaccination current, neutered and micro chipped.

Oscar is a Dachshund, maybe mixed with Catahoula and/or Bassett.  He's amazing with young children !  He is also 100% house trained and crate trained.  Oscar loves to play with his foster brother in the back yard and is great with other dogs once he warms up to them.  AS you can see he loves cuddles and hugs from babies!

Are you looking for a "settled" dog that is great with kids and dogs of all sizes?  Do you want one that is crate trained, walks great on a leash, sleeps on a doggie bed at night, loves to snuggle and even gets along with cats?  Consider our 4 year old Leo!

Cassie - 1 year old Boxer/Hound/ maybe black mouth cur thrown in - 50 lbs - VERY smart! Her foster reports she was crate trained in less than two days and now she either sleeps on the couch or in her crate. She is house trained, quiet, plays well with both male and female dogs and barks only when she wants to join in on the fun and they ignore her. She is good on a leash as well. Her foster says she is one of the most trainable females he has ever fostered.

Zeus is an almost 3 year old Chihuahua mix neutered male.  He is vaccination current and micro chipped.  He weighs 17 pounds - perfect size for a lap dog! He is being fostered in a home with other dogs of similar size as well as a cat.

Cyrus is an approximately 2 yr old. white and red male bulldog who thinks he's still the size of a puppy. He is a very active and energetic dog that loves to chase anything that moves. He can jump extremely high and loves any toy you give him. He also has a softer more loving side. His favorite thing to do is cuddle up on the couch next to you and "watch TV". Cyrus is completely house broken, no signs of food aggression with humans, he is very intelligent, quick to learn commands and he thrives on routine. Cyrus is not a very trusting dog so he has some difficulty warming up to people, but once he does he is extremely loyal and eager to please. Snacks, praise and consistency seem to be what works best. He needs a home without other pets or small children. Cyrus would do well with someone with a strong and assertive demeanor that has experience with bully breeds and a lot of patience. He also needs a large enclosed yard with at east a 6 foot fence as he can easily jump that high.

Velvet needs company - either human or another dog,  she does not like to be alone. She is dominate over other female dogs but is submissive to the two big males in her foster home. She will chase squirrels in a heart beat so doubt she would be good with cats, especially if they run. Running in her back yard is a fun thing for her to do, especially if she can stop and dig a hole or two along the way. She has not yet learned to walk good on a leash - working on itl She will be more suited to a home where someone is usually home as she loves giving kisses.

Shade was born Labor Day to Daisy, shown elsewhere. We know nothing about her breed with the exception of knowing her mother. As you can see from the picture, she has very unusual ears!  Sometimes only one is up but other times she has them both up as in the picture - really cute!  As with most 6 month old pups, she is very playful and bouncy. She pays close attention to you and is very treat motivated when she is learning new things. She walks on a leash with no problem.   She spends her days in a large fenced yard playing with the other dogs in her foster home. Shade is up to date on routine vaccinations,  has been spayed and and micro chipped, is on a heart worm preventative and is available for adoption. Apply now if you are interested in Shade!

We believe Daisy to be a terrier/bulldog mix. Daisy was pregnant when she was pulled from the pound. She gave birth to just one puppy, Shade, on Labor Day. She is very sweet and smart.  She can be energetic and playful or quiet and easy going. She gets along with other dogs but would also do well on her own.  She is house trained, knows basic commands, is good on a leash.  She is quite happy just hanging around her house.

Chase is a sweet, submissive 2 year old Lab mix! He is healthy weighing about 40 pounds. He is heartworm free and has no internal parasites. Chase has been neutered and is micro chipped. Chase is being fostered in a climate controlled kennel during the night and turned out to play with other dogs during the day. His inside area is always clean so he should be easy to house train. We believe he will make a super pet!

FAITH - This pretty girl is young - less than a year old. She is very attached to both her foster parents but, given a choice, prefers her foster "mom". She is usually super quiet but has been known to howl. She has already learned "sit" and "stay". One of her favorite spots is the couch where she very much enjoys using the arm rest as a pillow. She will not move a muscle as long as she is being petted. When Faith is not cuddling and giving kisses she can be found in the fenced backyard, running and playing with the other foster dogs in her home. She thinks putting her entire muzzle in the water bowl when drinking is fun! Needless to say she likes water which makes bath time easier. She spends her days running in her back yard, digging an occasional hole. She is learning to spend some time in a crate when her family is away but night time finds her in the bed with her fosters,

Cassidy is young, tall, lean, nice white teeth, and has adorable freckles on his nose, PLUS he loves the ladies and snuggling! He can even sing....sorta!Cassidy is a 60 lb 2 year old walker hound, walks great on leash - prefers a harness when walking to show off his long neck. He swims, runs, plays, is great with cats, kittens, dogs and puppies.
